I thought it appropriate, in the light of the historic passing of same sex marriage rights in NY that I share with you some photos of my most recent wedding. I shot this wedding with the fabulous Laura Billingham.
Our grooms, Rob and Vinnie were so much fun. I can not remember ever laughing so much while working. The entire bridal party were fun and entertaining. It was like hanging out with my friends.
The wedding took place at Perona Farms in Andover, New Jersey. Tucked away in the hills, this event hall offered many natural backgrounds for photography. I loved having the option of forest, lake, farm, or gazebo. From the photos you would think we spent hours shooting and trucking all over NJ. In truth we walked a big circle of about a 1/4 mile and got every beautiful shot.
A Night at the Carousel
Mercy Center Corporation Sisters Academy held a fundraiser to benefit their school on May 21st at the Asbury Park Carousel Building. I was there to run a photo booth and shoot some candid pictures of the event. The building is incredibly impressive! I spend a lot of time at the New Jersey shore and, surprisingly, it was my first time to the Asbury Park boardwalk. When we pulled down the street and saw the giant beautiful green building it took my breath away. Even more picturesque was the stilt walker in front of the building greeting the guests. The combination made a beautiful scene.
Inside the building was a catered affair. The entertainment featured my PHOTO BOOTH and the band New Life Crisis — they were FANTASTIC!! At one point I thought U2 had made an appearance. They got the crowd singing and dancing and really made the night HUMMMM. I created a video montage with some of the pictures I took and used New Life Crisis’ original song “She’s a Superstar” as the sound track. It seemed an appropriate song for making superstars at the Sister’s academy.
My neighbors’ magnolia tree is a huge tree on their front lawn that flowers so beautifully it is magical. I started taking my daughter’s photo under that tree in 2004 while she was wearing her pink tutu and a bathing suit top at the age of 4. Through the years we’ve had friends over for pictures under the tree and my sons have even gotten in on the act. It’s become a spring tradition. Some years the tree flowers last for 2 or more weeks and we have multiple photo shoots on the front lawn. This year they lasted for 3 days. I’m so glad we got out there in time. I hope you are all enjoying the beautiful spring sunshine. Get outside and take some pictures!
I had the pleasure of photographing the Blue Jean Bash Fundraiser for America’s Grow A Row. America’s Grow A Row grows fresh produce to donate to food pantries. Volunteers plant their own gardens and give the produce to Grow A Row. Local Farms, specifically, Peaceful Valley Orchards donate space on their own farms for Grow A Row to come in and plant gardens to feed those in need. This is such a great charity and I am happy to be involved with them.
The Blue Jean Bash was a blast. If you would like to see the photographs please click on the photo. If you would like to learn more about America’s Grow A Row please click on their logo to be taken to their web site and find out how you can get involved.
Not me! That’s for sure. I love it when kids get dirty. The more fun they have getting dirty the more relaxed they are and soon they could care less that I am taking pictures. Check out this video of a fun mud photo session.
I hope you all had a fantastic holiday and your photo gifts were received with joy! My children were blessed with a Wii this year and I haven’t seen them since!
I started a Dee’s Photography and Design facebook page this month. Make sure you visit and add me to the pages you like. Just click on the facebook icon and you will be taken directly to my facebook page. I will be posting new photos and fun things through out the coming months.

Ask me about the new die cut cards. Be Unique – they come in all kinds of crazy shapes that will make your cards stand out from the rest! Or go traditional with a 5×7 folded card.
I just got in a tri-fold card for a client tonight and it is BEAUTIFUL! I wish I could post it here but it’s a surprise to her family and friends. We designed that 6 sided card with 12 photos that told a story and then had it printed on pearlized premium paper – It is a knock out! I don’t know which one of us is more excited to send it out!
